MEXICAN REVOLUTION

Beginning in 1910, the Mexican Revolution was a complex and violent period of social and political upheaval. It started as a rebellion against the dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz, but quickly became a fight for land reform, workers’ rights, and democratic reforms. Leaders like Emiliano Zapata and Pancho Villa played key roles. The revolution led to major changes in Mexico, including a new constitution in 1917.

Revolution Edition – “The Reforma War”

In this activity, students explore the Monumento a la Revolución, one of Mexico’s most iconic landmarks, to understand the causes, leaders, and legacy of the Mexican Revolution. Through guided research and on-site observation, students reflect on how architecture, memory, and public space preserve revolutionary ideals. Each team creates a short video that highlights one key figure or event from the Revolution and analyzes how the monument represents national struggle, identity, and change over time.
